David Schurter
I am a graduate of Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications, earning my degree in sports media with a minor in journalism. From the courses I have taken to the co-curriculars, the Park School’s curriculum has prepared me for entering the sports media industry. I am passionate about bringing sports stories to life, from writing to video production, photography, graphic design and podcsts.
Previously, I worked two summer internships for two different collegiate baseball leagues. This past summer, I was a communications intern for the New England Collegiate Baseball League, where I produced nightly game recaps, weekly press releases, feature stories, video packages, graphic design and photography, as well as the occasional post-game interview when I had the chance to travel to the different ballparks across the league. Two summers ago, I was a media intern with the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League, where I had similar responsibilities, including game recaps, player interviews, constructing video packages and coordinating social media posts for the league.
I am from the Boston area, but am open to relocating. I am eager to continue to grow and expand my skillset and am always looking to go out of my comfort zone and challenge myself with something new.
